Coaching Self-Assessment and Coaching Development Tool

Coaching Self-Assessment

This self-assessment is designed to assist coaches to identify current strengths and professional development goals. The assessment covers three skill levels: Level 1 – Coach, Level 2 – Coach/Trainer or Lead Coach, Level 3 – Coordinator. In addition, each level assesses knowledge across Data, Practices, and Systems. More information and download self-assessment from the Center on PBIS.

PBIS Minnesota Coaching Development Tool (CDT)

In Minnesota, you can contact your regional coordinator to get access to the Coaching Development Tool (CDT), which is based on the coaching self-assessment. Information in the CDT is aggregated to ensure that coaches and related team members are getting the technical assistance they need to build on strengths identified across cohort teams, and prioritize key professional development goals identified for teams in our "coaching development scope and sequence".

There are two ways to access the CDT:

  1. External support (e.g., cohort and other new coaches receiving PD): Contact your regional coordinator for a survey link
  2. Internal support: Download Word document version of CDT for team and individual planning

Regional Implementation Project Support

Each region has supports specifically designed to address the knowledge, competencies, and skillsets coaches need in order to move the implementation of PBIS along at the site and district level. Although each regions coaching support is differentiated based on the needs of the schools they serve, each region uses the Coaching Development Tool to strategically guide supports.
