Families & Community: What is PBIS?

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a framework that organizes strategies for both academics and social behaviors.  The goal of schools using the PBIS framework is to enhance academic and social outcomes using data-based decision-making.

Schools are trained and guided through an 8-step process for implementation, making sure that all school staff, families, and community are aware of the language and programs in place to support positive behavior with students.

Schools implementing PBIS have a PBIS team committed to the initiative and work, and we encourage families and communities to reach out the PBIS team in your local school to learn more.
